As we watched the horrific events unfold on television, we couldn't help but think that Pittsburgh, with its major financial corporations and other businesses, could have very well been a target of this devastation. After a few moments of an overwhelming feeling of helplessness, we had a vision. Although we could not help those in New York, Washington, D.C. or Somerset, PA, we could make a difference here, in our hometown. By helping Pittsburgh to become the most prepared city in Pennsylvania against any further acts of terrorism, we have an added purpose in my life: to make Pittsburgh a safe home for our family and yours. Now we want to bring this charitable foundation to other cities around out great nation.
I
am not helpless.
In order to help make every city as safe as possible from the threat of terrorism, we created Benson's Batallion ™, a non-profit corporation dedicated to fighting terrorism and making our communities safe. Benson's Batallion ™helps to provide funds to police, fire and other related public safety groups so they are able to have the equipment, supplies and education needed to fight terrorism and to protect our communities.
Our vision has taken much time and energy. Many hardworking people have helped us to lay the groundwork to reach our goals. Together, we will work to raise and distribute funds where they are most needed, always keeping in mind the task at hand: to make our cities a safe place to live.
You are not helpless.
Sadly, as well learned on September 11, 2001, we can never be too prepared. Our freedom and security as we knew it has forever changed. But it does not mean we are helpless.
I hope you will review the enclosed information and consider helping Benson's
Batallion
™ to help those who are responsible for making your city a safe home for ourselves and our families. It is the only way we can protect our rights as Americans, in the name of those who we lost on September 11 as well as those who survived but whose lives will never be the same.
Thank
you.
Sincerely,
Anna Benson
